EVERY TAN CARPET CAN BE INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED IN TERMS OF SIZE, FORMAT, AND MATERIALS. EVEN THE COLLECTIONS CAN BE COMBINED WITH EACH OTHER USING A KIND OF MODULAR SYSTEM.
The yarns made from wool, silk, and nettle fibers are available in more than 1,200 colors. While the designs are conceived using a computer at the creative center in Beijing Headquarter and sent via the Internet to the workshops in Nepal, India, Isfahan, Iran, TAN is uncompromising when it comes to producing modern designs and insists on using old production methods.
QUALITY & MANUFACTURING
THE CARPETS ARE KNOTTED BY HAND IN THE WORKSHOPS ACCORDING TO CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONS. MORE THAN 500 WEAVERS WORK FOR TAN AROUND THE WORLD.
There are between 100 and 450 knots in every 6.45 square centimeters (one square inch). The main material used in the collections made in Asia is wool from the Tibetan highlands, one of the highest quality and most robust of all materials. Herdsmen use yaks to bring the wool from the mountains to the base station where it is then washed in the river and subsequently carded (combed) and spun by hand.

ONLY ECOLOGICALLY TESTED, PURELY NATURAL OR QUALITY DYES FROM SWITZERLAND ARE USED FOR DYEING.
In addition to the wool, the finest Chinese silk and yarn made from nettle fibers are used to reflect light in highly appealing way and give the carpets a very special look and feel. Unique natural materials combined with handmade production techniques give each carpet its own character, making it a distinctive creation like no other.
